Badminton Court Details

1. The badminton court should be a rectangle. Line’s wide is 40 mm. The double court line size is 13.4m X 6.1m; singles court line size is 13.4m X 5.18m; diagonal of the double is 14.723m; singles is 14.366m.

2. The color of the line is preferably white, yellow or other easily discernible colors.

3. From the ground of the court, the net post is 1.55 meters high. When the net is tightened, the net post should remain perpendicular to the ground.

4. Whether it is a singles or doubles match, the net post should be placed in the middle of the doubles sideline.

5. The net should be made by dark and high-quality string. The mesh is square, with the length of 15-20 mm by each side.

6. The upper edge of the net should has a 75 mm wide white cloth and folded in half, pass through the interlayer with rope or steel wire. The upper edge of the interlayer should be close to the rope or steel wire.

7.  The rope or steel wire should be firmly tightened and level with the top of the net post.

8. From the ground of the court, the top of the net center should be 1.524 meters high, the net height of the doubles sideline should be 1.55 meters.

9. Speed-measuring point: When checking the ball, use the low hand to hit the ball at court outside of the end line to ensure the flight direction of the ball is parallel to the sideline. The ball meets the standard speed should fall within the area between 530 to 990 mm from the outer edge of the opponent’s end line, which is the marked normal speed zone.
